My Brother’s Keeper By VIRGINIA McCABE Following the November 27, 2006 revelation that Atlantic City Councilman Eugene Robinson had been caught on tape in a sex act for purposes of blackmail by Craig Callaway and his associates, a hunt was on to find the alleged prostitute in the video. Her face was obscured by blurry dots during the entire video, or so the video editor thought. Still photographs of her face were captured and blown up. Her face was visible and the hunt by several law enforcement agencies was on to find her. The phone records of Craig Callaway were obtained for the time before, during and after the video taping of Robinson, which took place on November 13. A pattern emerged that indicated who the players were in the conspiracy to tape Robinson engaged in a sex act at the Bay View Motel in Absecon. Callaway repeatedly denied any involvement with the Robinson sex video to this reporter until he was sentenced in federal court for taking bribes amounting to $36,000. Electronic footprints led from Callaway’s phones to his co-conspirators. Officials hauled Callaway in and he confessed his involvement. He told investigators that his brothers participated and that the camera used to tape Robinson allegedly belonged to Floyd Tally, an Atlantic City Hall employee, with a long criminal record and gang involvement, according to officials. Tally did not return phone calls for this report. A plea agreement was being crafted where Craig Callaway would give up Tally and Tally would give up the Callaway’s brothers. The first draft included the provision that Callaway would be prosecuted in state court and his sentence would run concurrently with his federal prison sentence. “He didn’t want to be seen to give up his own brothers,” said a source with knowledge of the case. Did Craig Callaway’s brothers know that he gave them up to federal authorities? For now, only the brothers and law enforcement officials know. Information also surfaced that the girl in the video had been murdered in order to silence a witness. That notion was later dismissed by law enforcement because the editor of the film had taken steps to obscure her identity, still, they wanted to be sure she was alive and they might need her to testify in the case. Law enforcement officials received numerous calls and tips regarding who the girl was and where she lived. One call was a solid lead and a law enforcement officer was dispatched to a home in Galloway Township. The girl they found was a spot on match for the alleged prostitute in the video, however, it was not her. Several girls were checked out. Officials finally located the girl and she was captured. But will she be prosecuted for her role in the failed blackmail attempt? The Atlantic County Prosecutor will be making the decision on what charges are filed or presented before the grand jury and who will be held accountable for the crime against Robinson. There may also be plea agreements in the works for those who perpetrated
the crime.

Floyd Tally Denies Involvement in Robinson Taping
By VIRGINIA McCABE Floyd Tally contacted the Atlantic Daily Sentinel Friday to request a
retraction of a story written about his alleged involvement with the taping
of Atlantic City Councilman Eugene Robinson. “I want to clear my name from this stuff,” said Tally. He said he did not provide a camera for Callaway to use. When asked when he first knew about the Robinson tape, Tally at first said he did not remember and then said he did not want to give an interview, he simply wanted to clear his name. “I would never testify about the brothers,” Tally said. |
