HELP LOCAL KIDS: TEAMS NOW FORMING Somers Point, NJ – Excitement is building as one the area’s oldest and largest child service organization prepares to hit the lanes to support local youth. The fun begins with a Kick-off Luncheon on March 7, 2007 at Stumpo’s in Somers Point featuring a fabulous free Italian buffet and lots of important announcements and information about Bowl For Kids Sake 2007. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Atlantic County will hold their annual Bowl For Kids’ Sake fundraiser during two weekends in April. The annual event returns to Egg Harbor City’s Strike Zone on April 21 - 22, and 3J’s Wildwood Bowl on April 27 and 29. All proceeds go toward the organization’s community and school outreach programs. Local competition begins now as teams get organized and start raising pledges. Bowling teams consist of 6 members, but many companies and groups have more than one representative team, encouraging fun competition among members or employees. Often, a specific business or group will challenge others within their same industry, i.e., law firms, restaurants, service clubs. A team captain organizes his or her bowlers. Each team member raises
money by collecting pledges and donations and is requested to generate
at least $100. It’s easy with personalized online team pages and
fun emails to send to friends, family, and colleagues asking them to support
the bowler’s best game. All eligible bowlers receive a special Bowl
For Kids’ Sake T-shirt. Besides enjoying a great afternoon of bowling,
participants may win a variety of top prizes, as well as the satisfaction
of helping area children.
